Tomcat Motorsport

www.ppcages.com

Tomcat Motorsport’s association with John Cockburn began in 2002 when, while still a young company I decided that Tomcat needed to build and race a car to raise our profile and demonstrate our products. Having known and raced with and against John for some years I knew he would be the ideal person to assist with the build and also drive the car. This first very successful foray led to bigger and better things including an outright win on the Scottish Hill rally and second overall in the British Off-road championship in 2004 using the works Tomcat 88.

As we progressed through the coming years the Tomcat Motorsport/Cockburn alliance went from strength to strength, building better cars and improving our team. This included John as driver/coordinator and me as senior technician/support driver, all the time gaining other crew members who could meet the highest standards we set for ourselves in vehicle preparation and on event support.

In 2007 John launched the Max Traction team to utilise the excellent resources that had been gathered during this period. Its aim, to provide the best support for customers on events and also supply a complete car and support package. Tomcat Motorsport were able to build the ultimate specification production Tomcat 100 for Max Traction to use as a hire car and also demonstrate the vehicle for us in a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Knowing Johns ability to coordinate a team and produce results without fail, the members of the Max Traction teams unsurpassed abilities to get race cars to the finish and Tomcats design and build qualities, I fully expect this renewed and progressive association to produce even better results and exposure than ever before.
